Neeraj Shah, MBA, PMP, is the founder and managing partner at Boston Insights. His expertise is in business strategy, supply chain management, operations excellence, and digital transformation of supply chain & manufacturing.
Prior to establishing Boston Insights, Neeraj led multiple digital transformation initiatives that optimized supply chain operations, improved productivity, reduced lead times, waste, and cost, and shaped competitive advantage for organizations such as Bristol Myers Squibb, Celgene Corporation, Shire Pharmaceuticals & Biogen Idec.
As the Director of Clinical Supply Chain Process and Digital Transformation at BMS, he successfully established an integrated analytics platform that enabled end-to-end visibility and proactive risk management of its Clinical Supply Chain.
At Celgene, he led the evaluation and implementation an ERP system for Clinical Trials Supply Chain Management, and transformed the clinical label development process, that reduced the lead time by 40-50%.
Under his leadership, the integration of several 3PLs and CMO’s with Shire’s SAP system was successfully commissioned. It optimized Shire’s sales and operations planning process. The integration of clinical supply chain process and systems for multiple operating units, and the implementation of track and trace solution at Shire’s external packaging site in Europe, were his key accomplishments.
At Biogen Idec, he led the automation of a finished product release process, that reduced product returns by 50%, and improved compliance to over 98%.
Driving process optimization, digital innovation, evaluating & selecting fit for purpose technologies, and guiding the leadership in decision making are his core strengths. With an aptitude for strategic planning and executing them, this enables Neeraj to solve the most challenging problems in the pharmaceutical industry.
Neeraj has an MBA from Babson College, MA, and also has an Industrial & Production Engineering degree from Bangalore University, India.
