John G. Sawyer bio

John G. Sawyer, CPIM-F, CIRM, CSCP-F, CLTD-F

John Sawyer retired in 2010 after spending 22 years with Sikorsky Aircraft. He has over 50 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Management Systems. John has been an Independent Consultant, and has also held positions of Director of Management Systems and Manager of Manufacturing Systems.He has held technical positions in data processing, as well as supervisory positions in Production Control, Manufacturing, and Retailing.

A member of APICS since the late 60's, John has taught Certification courses at the local chapter level, as well as both Production and Inventory Control and Data Processing at the collegiate level. John is an original member of the New Haven Chapter of APICS and served as its fourth President.

John is a graduate of Boston University, and has done graduate work at both Syracuse and Cornell Universities. He is certified by APICS at the fellow level for CPIM, CSCP, and CLTD, as well as holding the APICS CIRM Certification. He is also an APICS Master Instructor for all APICS Certification curricula. He is a frequent speaker at colleges and professional societies and has spoken several times at the APICS International Conference, LAADSIG, and NEADSIG.
